In 2007, Sarah created a non-profit program that organized events at local bars and restaurants to raise money for other non-profits throughout the Cape Fear region. Although she resigned her position to focus her time and energy on her current business, this organization is still in existence today, carrying on the mission and vision that Sarah helped create.
Sarah’s experience with the creation of this program gave her first-hand knowledge of what is required to successfully launch, expand, and promote business in Southeastern North Carolina, in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors, and showed her the nearly infinite possibilities of social media in business. This insight would provide the groundwork in her interest in creative entrepreneurship and would become the basis for what would come next; the creation of FussBudget Promotions.

Now in only its first year of existence, FussBudget Promotions has quickly positioned itself as being the go-to promotional and marketing service for small business in the Wilmington area. Sarah and her partners are keenly aware of the importance of social media in today’s landscape and do everything possible to stay current on trends in the marketplace. She understands that in today’s world, social media represents the most efficient and immediate forms of interaction. Sarah Barbee holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Meredith College, in Raleigh, NC, with a major in Graphic Design and 3D. When not volunteering, and needlepointing, and crafting, she spends most of her time living and working in historic and beautiful Wilmington, NC, the town she’s called home since 2006.
